1 Purpose
These Video Content Rules establish the standards governing videos uploaded, streamed, shared, displayed, or otherwise transmitted through Damascus Projects Global.
Video is an important part of the Damascus Projects Global experience. Founders and other users may use video to present businesses, products, services, projects, ideas, prototypes, and professional capabilities, while users may participate in live video interactions and private virtual meetings.
These Rules are intended to ensure that video content remains:
- authentic;
- professional;
- lawful;
- relevant;
- respectful;
- safe; and
- suitable for genuine business communication.
By uploading, streaming, displaying, or participating in video content through Damascus Projects Global, you agree to comply with these Rules, the Terms of Use, Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, Business Listing Rules, and other applicable policies.
2 Types of Video Content
These Rules apply to video content including, but not limited to:
- live streams;
- business presentation videos;
- video prototypes;
- recorded business demonstrations;
- product demonstrations;
- promotional videos;
- founder or business-owner introductions;
- investor presentations;
- virtual meetings;
- private video calls;
- event or festival videos;
- educational business content; and
- other video content made available through Damascus Projects Global.
Different features may have additional requirements.
3 Damascus Projects Global's Role
Damascus Projects Global provides technology that enables users to communicate and present business information through video.
Damascus Projects Global does not automatically endorse, approve, verify, or guarantee the statements, claims, products, services, businesses, or opportunities presented in a video.
The person or organisation responsible for the video remains responsible for its content.
Damascus Projects Global is not a party to private commercial discussions or transactions between users merely because those discussions occur through the service.
4 Authority to Upload or Stream
You must have the necessary rights and authority to upload, stream, record, display, or share video content.
You must not knowingly upload or broadcast:
- another person's private recording without permission;
- copyrighted material without appropriate rights;
- confidential business information belonging to another person;
- proprietary presentations without authorisation;
- private conversations without appropriate consent; or
- content that violates another person's legal rights.
If other identifiable people appear in your video, you are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate legal basis or permission where required.
5 Business Authenticity
Business videos should accurately represent the business, product, service, project, or idea being presented.
Users must not deliberately fabricate:
- products;
- customers;
- sales;
- offices;
- factories;
- employees;
- partnerships;
- investors;
- contracts;
- licences;
- certifications;
- awards;
- financial results; or
- other material business facts.
A demonstration, prototype, simulation, concept, or future plan must not be deliberately presented as an existing commercial reality.
6 Video Prototypes
Video prototypes may be used to help users understand a business, product, service, technology, project, or idea.
A prototype video should make it reasonably clear whether the material represents:
- an existing product;
- a product under development;
- a concept;
- a demonstration;
- a simulation;
- a planned feature; or
- a future commercial proposal.
Where a demonstration does not represent actual current performance, the presenter should not create the impression that it does.
7 Live Streaming
Live streams must be used for legitimate business, networking, communication, educational, or other permitted purposes.
During a live stream, users must:
- communicate respectfully;
- present information honestly;
- avoid deceptive claims;
- respect other participants;
- follow host instructions where applicable;
- avoid disruptive conduct; and
- comply with all applicable Damascus Projects Global policies.
Hosts may end or restrict participation in a live stream where necessary to maintain an appropriate environment.
8 Live Business Presentations
Users presenting businesses during a live stream should aim to provide clear and useful information.
Where appropriate, presentations may explain:
- what the business does;
- the problem being addressed;
- the product or service;
- the target market;
- the business model;
- current stage of development;
- business achievements;
- future plans; and
- the type of business connection being sought.
Presenters should distinguish clearly between established facts, estimates, opinions, ambitions, and projections.
9 Financial Claims and Projections
Financial claims made through video must be truthful and must not deliberately mislead viewers.
This includes claims about:
- revenue;
- profit;
- valuation;
- investment;
- funding;
- projected returns;
- market size;
- customer numbers;
- growth;
- financial performance; and
- future results.
Future projections should not be presented as guaranteed outcomes.
Users must not falsely state or imply that Damascus Projects Global has reviewed, approved, guaranteed, or endorsed financial claims made in a video.
10 Investment and Commercial Discussions
Damascus Projects Global is an introduction-only business matchmaking technology.
Video communication does not make Damascus Projects Global:
- an investor;
- financial adviser;
- broker;
- investment manager;
- fund manager;
- financial intermediary; or
- guarantor of a transaction.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any commercial or investment-related activity they undertake through or following a connection complies with applicable law.
Users should conduct appropriate independent due diligence before entering into any financial or commercial arrangement.
11 Private Video Meetings
Private video meetings are intended to facilitate direct communication between users.
Participants should:
- respect the privacy of the other participant;
- avoid recording or distributing the meeting without appropriate permission or lawful authority;
- avoid harassment or intimidation;
- avoid deceptive representations;
- respect confidentiality; and
- comply with applicable laws and these Rules.
Damascus Projects Global does not guarantee the confidentiality of information voluntarily disclosed by users during a private meeting.
Users should exercise appropriate care before sharing sensitive information.
12 Recording and Distribution
You must not record, reproduce, publish, distribute, or commercially exploit another person's video or private meeting without the necessary permission or legal authority.
You must also respect applicable privacy, data protection, copyright, and other legal requirements.
A user's participation in a video interaction does not automatically grant other participants unlimited rights to reproduce or redistribute that person's image, voice, statements, or content.
13 Privacy and Personal Information
Video content must not be used to expose another person's private information without appropriate authority.
Do not intentionally display or disclose:
- private contact information;
- passwords;
- account credentials;
- financial account information;
- private documents;
- confidential correspondence;
- precise private location information;
- medical information;
- personal identification documents; or
- other sensitive personal information.
Users are encouraged to review their surroundings and screen content before beginning a live stream or video meeting.
14 Child Safety
Damascus Projects Global is not intended to facilitate exploitative or inappropriate interactions involving children.
Users must not use video features to:
- exploit or abuse children;
- sexually exploit or sexualise minors;
- solicit inappropriate interactions with minors;
- expose minors to inappropriate content; or
- facilitate unlawful activity involving minors.
Damascus Projects Global may take immediate action where child safety is a concern and may report matters to appropriate authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary.
15 Harassment and Abuse
Video content must not be used to harass, threaten, intimidate, humiliate, stalk, or repeatedly target another person.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- abusive attacks;
- threats;
- targeted humiliation;
- intimidation;
- unwanted repeated contact;
- discriminatory abuse;
- deliberate disruption of another user's presentation; and
- attempts to frighten or coerce another participant.
Users should be able to participate in business communication without being subjected to abusive conduct.
16 Hate and Discrimination
Video content must not promote serious hatred, dehumanisation, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
Professional disagreement and criticism are permitted, but they must not become abusive or discriminatory.
17 Violence and Dangerous Content
Users must not use video features to threaten, encourage, organise, or glorify serious violence or dangerous criminal activity.
Content that creates a credible and immediate safety concern may be restricted or removed.
18 Sexual or Exploitative Content
Damascus Projects Global is a business matchmaking service and must not be used to distribute exploitative or inappropriate sexual content.
Content involving sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual material, sexualisation of minors, or other unlawful sexual activity is prohibited.
Damascus Projects Global may take immediate action against accounts involved in such conduct.
19 Illegal Activities
Video content must not be used to facilitate, promote, advertise, or coordinate unlawful activities.
This includes videos intended to facilitate:
- fraud;
- scams;
- theft;
- trafficking;
- money laundering;
- unlawful financial schemes;
- prohibited goods or services;
- cybercrime;
- impersonation; or
- other unlawful activity.
20 Intellectual Property
Users must respect intellectual property rights when creating video content.
Do not use another person's:
- music;
- film;
- television content;
- photographs;
- artwork;
- software;
- presentation;
- logo;
- trademark;
- business material; or
- other protected content
without appropriate rights or permission.
Where a legitimate licence or legal exception applies, the user remains responsible for ensuring that the use is lawful.
21 Music and Third-Party Media
Users should only include music, recordings, clips, images, or other third-party media in videos where they have the necessary rights.
The fact that content is publicly available online does not automatically mean that it can be reused in a business presentation or live stream.
22 AI-Generated and Manipulated Video
Artificial intelligence and editing technologies may be used for legitimate business presentation purposes where appropriate.
However, users must not use manipulated, synthetic, or AI-generated video to deliberately deceive users about:
- a person's identity;
- a person's statements;
- business ownership;
- product performance;
- customer activity;
- financial results;
- endorsements;
- partnerships;
- certifications; or
- other material facts.
Where synthetic or heavily manipulated material could reasonably create a materially misleading impression, appropriate disclosure may be required.
23 Impersonation
Users must not use video to impersonate:
- another person;
- a founder;
- an executive;
- an investor;
- a company representative;
- a government official;
- Damascus Projects Global personnel; or
- another organisation or authority.
This includes the deceptive use of another person's image, voice, identity, or credentials.
24 Misleading Business Presentations
A professional presentation may promote a business, but it must not deliberately deceive the audience.
Examples of prohibited conduct include:
- showing a rented facility as if it were owned;
- presenting another company's product as your own;
- fabricating customer testimonials;
- inventing investors or partnerships;
- falsifying financial documents;
- presenting edited footage as current live performance;
- claiming regulatory approval that does not exist; or
- presenting future plans as completed achievements.
25 Spam and Unwanted Promotion
Video features must not be used primarily to distribute repetitive or unwanted promotional material.
Users must not:
- repeatedly broadcast the same unsolicited promotion;
- disrupt other users' live sessions with advertising;
- use fake accounts to amplify videos;
- manipulate viewership;
- repeatedly send unwanted video invitations; or
- use video features to bypass communication restrictions.
26 Live Stream Participation
Participants joining another user's live stream should respect the purpose and rules of that stream.
Participants must not:
- deliberately interrupt presentations;
- dominate the discussion;
- harass the host or other participants;
- make unrelated promotional pitches;
- attempt to redirect viewers through deception;
- disrupt technical functionality; or
- repeatedly ignore reasonable instructions from the host.
27 Business Events and Special Programmes
Where Damascus Projects Global provides special video events, challenges, festivals, networking sessions, or other programmes, participants must follow any additional event-specific rules.
Participation in an event does not create an endorsement or guarantee of any participant, business, product, investment, or commercial outcome.
28 Content Moderation
Damascus Projects Global may use automated systems, human review, user reports, or other reasonable methods to identify potentially harmful or policy-violating video content.
Depending on the circumstances, Damascus Projects Global may:
- issue a warning;
- restrict visibility;
- disable a video;
- remove content;
- restrict live-streaming privileges;
- suspend an account;
- terminate an account; or
- take other appropriate action.
Serious violations may result in immediate action.
29 Reporting Video Content
Users should report video content that they reasonably believe:
- violates these Rules;
- contains fraud or deception;
- infringes intellectual property rights;
- exposes private information;
- creates a safety concern;
- involves harassment;
- impersonates another person or business; or
- violates applicable law.
Reports should provide enough information to allow Damascus Projects Global to investigate the concern.
False or malicious reports may themselves violate company policies.
30 User Responsibility
Every user remains responsible for the videos they upload, stream, record, or share.
Before publishing video content, users should consider:
- whether they have the necessary rights;
- whether the information is accurate;
- whether confidential information is visible;
- whether other people have appropriate permission;
- whether the content complies with applicable law;
- whether financial or business claims are properly presented; and
- whether the content complies with Damascus Projects Global policies.
31 No Guarantee of Content Review
Damascus Projects Global cannot guarantee that every video will be reviewed before being viewed by other users.
The absence of immediate moderation does not mean that content has been approved, verified, or endorsed.
Users should report concerns when they arise.
32 Accountability for Off-Platform Conduct
Certain conduct occurring outside Damascus Projects Global may still be relevant where it directly affects the safety, integrity, trust, or operation of the service.
Where permitted by applicable law, Damascus Projects Global may take action when credible information indicates that off-platform conduct is directly connected to serious fraud, impersonation, threats, abuse, or other conduct affecting the Damascus Projects Global community.
33 Appeals
Where video content or video functionality has been restricted or removed, the affected user may request a review where an appeal process is available.
An appeal should explain:
- what content or restriction is being challenged;
- why the user believes the action was incorrect; and
- any relevant supporting information.
Damascus Projects Global may request additional information before making a decision.
34 Emergencies and Legal Compliance
Damascus Projects Global may disclose information or take other appropriate action where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- respond to lawful requests from authorities;
- protect users;
- investigate serious fraud;
- address credible threats of serious harm;
- protect the service; or
- prevent unlawful activity.
35 Changes to These Rules
Damascus Projects Global may update these Video Content Rules from time to time to reflect:
- changes to video functionality;
- new technologies;
- emerging safety risks;
- legal or regulatory requirements;
- changes to business operations; or
- improvements to the service.
Updated Rules will become effective on the stated effective date.
